Five years later, Kat is finishing her graduate degree and building her business as a jewelry designer, when Bryan, head of his own successful company, walks back into her life. Bryan has been assigned to Kat as her new business mentor and the rules are clear. No hanky panky permitted. That works for both of them. Kat needs to grow her business to help her parents; Bryan needs to run a clean operation after his former business partner’s romantic scandal that rocked his firm.
Kat can handle that because she's totally over him... right? Except, he still makes her laugh. And he remembers all the things she likes. And he's more handsome now than he was then. Then there’s the spark between them — the simply undeniable chemistry.
Can they resist each other? Or are they willing to risk everything for a second chance at first love?
This is a sweet story of the one that got away. Kat just can't seem to get Bryan out of her head, and when he walks back into her life it leaves her head spinning and her emotions running wild. Despite the fact they lost each other, they never lost the physical connection. The sexual tension between Bryan and Kat was so hot, it could have caught my Kindle on fire! This was the just kind of book I was in the mood for! I give this book 4 stars.

What means the most to you – great writing or a great story? And why?
That's a great question. The writing is so important, but the story really has to come first. Both are vital! But ultimately, stories are what readers want, and what keeps them turning the pages so the story should come first.
Do you write to music, if so, What music do you write to?
I generally prefer to write when it's quiet. But if I'm in a cafe or on an airplane, I always listen to music because I become easily distracted by nearby conversations and by the hum of latte machines! I have a playlist for each book I write -- for CAUGHT UP IN US it had songs like Overjoyed by Matchbox Twenty, Madness by Muse and Love is Blindness by Jack White on it.
What are 5 things would you take with you if you were stranded on a deserted island?
My toothbrush, a pilot, a private jet, and enough fuel to get off the island!
What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
My writing quirk is I can write anywhere if I have to. While I like to write at home in the quiet, I wrote the closing scenes of CAUGHT UP IN US in my car. Not while driving though! I was parked on the side of the road and waiting for my sixth grader to get out of school, and I sat in the front seat with my laptop and finished up the novel! I've written in parks, libraries, cafes, cars, ferries, airplanes, you name it!
If you could have one superpower what would it be?
I'd love to be able to turn back time, to squeeze an extra hour into every day, or to be super strong, but I have to say flying would probably be the coolest.

Where She Went by Gayle Forman is pretty spectacular!
What is the last book you read?
The Next Forever by Lisa Burstein.
If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or
dead, real or fictional. with whom would it be?
Hermione. I totally want one of those tiny little purses that holds everything!
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as
you?
I'm kind of in love with Emma Stone as well as Anna Kendrick, so either would be great. Oh wait, I'd have to be twenty-two for either of them to play me! Can they play me in my younger years??

Deadline-crusher, cookie-lover, devoted mom
