Synopsis from Goodreads:  Talia Gregory relies on her Nan for everything, especially helping her calm the anxiety that controls her life. But Nan gets sick, and it couldn’t be worse timing. Talia’s panic attacks are getting worse, her boyfriend is a jerk, her best friend is distant, her parents are more absent than usual and she’s stuck planning the Cozy Christmas Charity Drive for her knitting group in place of Nan. If that’s not panic inducing enough, enter Lachlan.

Lachlan McCreedy doesn’t rely on anyone. Not after what he’s been through. It’s him and Gram, nothing else matters but keeping his past buried, and his secrets hidden. So when Gram forces him to help with her Christmas sale, Talia is the last thing he expected, and trusting her with his secrets comes as a shock to both of them. But when he unexpectedly falls for her, the question becomes can he trust her with his heart?

My thoughts...

What first grabbed me was this gorgeous cover!  Let's face it....a picture is worth a thousand words and you certainly can judge a book by it's cover.  I'm happy to share that the story was just as beautiful as the image on the front of the book.  This is the first novel by Allie Brennan and she has delivered a solid mature YA that readers of all ages will love!

The cover, title, and plot were all woven together around Talia.  I adored the special relationship that she had with her grandmother, Nan, and that knitting was something she enjoyed doing with her.  It gave me warm memories of my own grandmother and the things we shared together.  Inside the knitting group of  quirky old ladies and, of course, Talia, she comes face to face with notorious bad boy Lachlan.  As it turns out, Lachlan is the grandson of anther fellow knitter.  Talia, who suffers from severe panic attacks stemming from public encounters, thrives on going unnoticed, but quickly comes out of hiding when Lachlan enters her life.  While being forced to work together on the knitting group's Cozy Christmas fundraiser, Talia and Lachlan discover that even thought outwardly they are polar opposites, inside they are woven from the same wool.  They both have secrets they are hiding and each have a grandmother that they adore more than anything.

Opposites attract and find love in this super sweet novel.  The characters were charming and their struggles and heartaches were genuine.  These were real emotions and conflicts that teenagers face all around us and I think as a reader I was able to relate to them on many levels.  I enjoyed how the story rotated from Talia to Lachlan's point of view and found it to flow beautifully and effortlessly.  There were certainly bumps along the way for these two but I found the happy ending I love so much in these type of YA novels.  This is a story that I highly recommend to readers of all ages.  Included at the end of the book was a look at her next project, Under the Dusty Sky, and I look forward to reading it as well!

While checking out Allie's website and trying to do some research into the cover that I loved so much, I was surprised to find that she designed it herself.  Not only that, she designs covers for other authors as well.  Her business is called B Design and you can take a look at her work here.  I was instantly drooling over the other covers featured on her site and super impressed that she is not only a talented writer, but a wonderful graphic designer as well.  Here are some of the other covers that she has worked on.....

And finally, look at the cover for her next book, Under the Dusty Sky.  It is just as beautiful as Tight Knit and this cover has won my heart as well!
