Is Love Enough by Marisa Adams
4 stars
Review by Erin Roth
Synopsis:
Love is a powerful thing; but, sometimes, love isn't enough. At least, that's what Rebekah Thomas believes. In her younger, more naive days, Rebekah thought love could conquer all; that was before the death of her husband, and high school sweetheart. Now she believes life is easier without it.
Ever the romantic at heart, a failed marriage and cinema glitter is not enough to stop famous actor Jason Taylor from believing the right woman for him is out there somewhere. Tired of his undeserved playboy reputation, he unexpectedly finds the forever kind of love miles away, with a small town teacher.
Rebekah and Jason could bridge their different worlds together, but this sweet and compassionate teacher has trouble letting him in. Just as she is convinced they could have a chance, one moment threatens to destroy everything they have built. Can Rebekah finally see the truth - that sometimes, love is all you need?
My Review:
Is Love Enough is hands-down a good book. It's sweet, it's cute, it's heartwarming, it's happy. I was in the mood for a happy, feel-good book, and this didn't disappoint. The characters are flawed, believable, and likable. Well, most of them...
Jason Taylor (who was coincidentally a really cute guy at my high school) is a divorced soap star with a crazy family. Rebekah Thomas is a widowed middle school Social Studies teacher from Texas. They meet on the streets of New York City, where he works and she's attending a conference. He drops something, she picks it up, and the rest is history...
Destiny. Kismet. Fate. Luck?
Any and all lead them quickly into a relationship that it seems they've been waiting their entire lives for, but will it last? Is love enough to get them through the struggles of a long-distance relationship? Enough to weather interfering ex-wives and the memories of love lost? Enough to last?
While Is Love Enough was relatively predictable, I still loved it. I was invested enough in Jason and Rebekah to need their happy ending. And it was happy. And sappy. And perfect. And I have a big smile plastered on my face now, which was just what I needed. :)
Feel like a happy book? Pick up Is Love Enough. You'll be glad you did.
