Synopsis from Goodreads:  Julia Abbot and Ryan Matthews have been inseparable best friends since the moment they met. Each of them fight an internal battle unwilling to risk their incredible friendship but unable to quell their deep longing for the other. On the verge of his departure to medical school and to her new job on the opposite coast, Ryan and Julia are forced to face the undeniable truth of their deeper feelings.

My thoughts...

If you are looking for a sweet and all consuming love story, you have found it here!  There was heartache, but angst-filled roller coasters with bad boys, this is not.  Some might feel this story is too sappy and sweet, but sometimes that’s just what we need as readers.  I fell in love with the story of Ryan and Julia because my heart and emotions needed a break and I just want to read a great, feel-good love story.  This book made me swoon, and drool, and just sigh out loud.  Ryan was immediately the new love of my life and I don’t think I’ve ever read about a man who was so perfect and desirable.  Julia was just as sweet as he was and I was completely consumed in their story.

There were obstacles Ryan and Julia faced such as a long distance relationship, jealousy, and their love being put to the test in the gripping final scenes, but this only added to my love for this story. The sex scenes were written a way that can only be described as beautiful.  There was some serious chemistry between these two.  My only hesitation was the fact that they were always saying “I love you” and it did get a bit gushy always reading those lines.  But seriously, I cannot lie and say that I didn’t wish it was me Ryan was falling all over!  Who wouldn’t love to fall for their very best friend in the world and have a fairy tale romance?

Kahlen Aymes is to be commended for a stellar first novel!  It is everything a truly dreamy romance should be and more.  The good news is that after the tearjerker ending and cliffhanger, you can immediately purchase the second book in the series, “Don’t Forget to Remember Me,” on Amazon.  Believe me, you won’t be able to resist.  Grab some tissues and get ready to fall in love.  I know I did!
